July 3, 2023, Bauman Moscow State Technical University hosted the opening ceremony of the XXIII International Conference "Physical Interpretations of the Relativity Theory PIRT-2023". In a moment in which distance learning is more important than ever, the PIRT-2023 conference held in the Conference-Hall of Educational and Laboratory Building is providing an opportunity for all participants to share and present their contributions by means of modern multimedia technology, which allows presentations to be given both distantly and in person. All reports are accompanied by simultaneous conference interpreting.
The grand opening saw the welcome speeches of the Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University Michael Gordin, all-time PIRT participant; the President of the Russian Gravitational Society, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an internationally recognized scientist in the field of cosmology and gravity Alexey Starobinsky; a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Head of the Department of Physics Andrey Morozov; the Vice-Rector for Science and Digital Development of Bauman Moscow State Technical University Pavel Drogovoz, Dean of the faculty "Fundamental Sciences", co-chairman of the PIRT-2023 Organizing Committee Vladimir Gladyshev.
The XXIII International Conference "PIRT-2023" aimed at discussing modern generalizations of the theory of relativity, its observable consequences; experimental verification of the theory of relativity; methods of registration of gravitational waves; effects of relativistic electrodynamics and optics of moving media; as well as astrophysical observations and space experiments.
The PIRT-2023 program is dedicated to the latest advances in the theory of gravity, cosmology, astrophysics; more than 150 researchers from 23 countries plan to take part in the conference.
In parallel with the conference, the IV Summer Youth School "Gravity, Cosmology and Astrophysics ISGCA - 2023" started. The ISGCA-2023 conference aims at enthusiastic senior students majoring in theoretical physics. Its purpose is to attract talented young people to scientific research in the field of fundamental physics, to tackle the main problems, ideas and methods of research in the modern theory of gravity and cosmology.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexey Alexandrovich Starobinsky gave plenary lectures at the opening. The school will continue its work until July 7, well-known scientists from various countries will speak at the School. Each participant of the School will receive an international level certificate of participation.
